Air support environment - conference "STUDY AND CONSERVATION OF THE FAUNA IN TROPICAL AND TEMPERATURE ENVIRONMENTS"

On 07 November 2022, Xavier Vincke and Julie Linchant were invited to the conference "STUDY AND CONSERVATION OF THE FAUNA IN TROPICAL AND TEMPERATURE ENVIRONMENTS" at the University of Liège, Gembloux Agro-Bio tech, to give a presentation: "Aerial inventory of the Comoe: towards a new photographic approach". Aviation Sans Frontières Belgium provides technical support to the Ivorian Office of Parks and Reserves at the aerial level: aeroplane, ULM and drone.

Aviation Sans Frontières participated in the organisation and the smooth running of this inventory of the large fauna of the Comoé National Park in March-April 2022 and participated with Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech in the writing of the report. An automatic photographic inventory was carried out simultaneously with the usual inventory with on-board observers. These photographic data are being analysed as part of a PhD thesis of Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech involving the development of an artificial intelligence algorithm for photo analysis.

This day of exchanges allowed us to interact with many partners involved in wildlife conservation, such as ULiège, WCS, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Agreco and WWF Belgium.
